The “Youth’s Legal Advocacy in the Media” project, a winner of the individual grant competition announced by the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty,” is continuing successfully.

The project is being implemented at Mingachevir State University (MSU) under the leadership of Vagif Fatullayev. As part of the project, another educational training session was delivered by Aynur Araz, Regional Representative of the Azerbaijan Teacher newspaper and Editor of Gunboyu.az. In line with the project’s objectives, the training focused on improving young people’s legal awareness and media literacy.

The main topic of the training was fact-checking. Participants were introduced to the principles and techniques of verifying the accuracy of information published in the media, identifying misinformation and fake news, working with reliable sources, and presenting information accurately within legal and ethical frameworks.

The session also addressed information security, the objective and responsible reporting of legal issues in the media, and the role of fact-checking in shaping public opinion. These topics were illustrated through practical examples and real-life case studies.

Organized in an interactive format, the training encouraged active participation through discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and the exchange of ideas, creating an engaging and productive learning environment.

It is planned that additional educational training sessions will be organized in the upcoming stages of the “Youth’s Legal Advocacy in the Media” project, further contributing to the development of legal awareness, critical thinking, and responsible media literacy among young people.
