Waste Management
Mingachevir State University is committed to sustainable waste management and environmental protection. Separate collection bins for paper, plastic, metal, and glass waste are installed across the campus to encourage waste segregation and recycling. Special collection containers are also provided for used batteries to ensure their safe disposal and prevent environmental pollution.
The university regularly organizes awareness campaigns, clean-up activities, and educational visits related to waste management and recycling. Students participate in field trips to recycling facilities, where they learn about waste processing technologies and the circular economy. In addition, environmental clean-up initiatives are carried out in surrounding natural areas, promoting environmental responsibility and community engagement. These efforts contribute to reducing waste generation, increasing recycling rates, and fostering a sustainable campus culture.
Mingachevir State University has implemented an electronic journal system to digitalize academic processes. The system enables efficient attendance tracking, grade management, and communication between lecturers, students, and administrative staff, reducing paper consumption and supporting sustainable campus management.

Waste Awareness and Educational Activities
Mingachevir State University regularly organizes educational and awareness-raising activities to promote sustainable waste management practices among students and staff. These initiatives aim to increase environmental responsibility, encourage waste reduction, and support recycling efforts both on campus and in the wider community.
The university organized an educational visit to “Tamiz Shahar” OJSC, where students gained practical knowledge about waste treatment and recycling processes. Training sessions on “Reducing Waste on Campus and Establishing Recycling Infrastructure” were also conducted to strengthen awareness of sustainable waste management practices.
In addition, the university hosted a “Zero Waste” flash mob encouraging students to minimize waste generation and adopt environmentally responsible behaviors. Open lectures on waste management and master classes on plastic waste collection and recycling were organized to enhance students’ understanding of environmental protection and the circular economy.
Furthermore, Mingachevir State University held a creative event entitled “Art Installations Made from Ecological Waste”. During the event, students showcased creative works produced from waste and recycled materials, highlighting the importance of reuse, recycling, and environmental sustainability.
These activities contribute to increasing environmental awareness, promoting circular economy principles, and fostering sustainable lifestyles among students and staff.
