Mingachevir State University Supports Student Access to Museums and Cultural Heritage Sites

Mingachevir State University (MSU) contributes to expanding students’ access to culture and promoting historical and cultural heritage by encouraging visits to museums, historical monuments, exhibition venues, and other cultural heritage sites located in various cities and regions of Azerbaijan.

The University’s cultural and educational activities support students in gaining learning experiences not only within the academic environment but also in cultural institutions and heritage sites open to the public. Visits to museums and historical sites across different regions of Azerbaijan provide students with opportunities to explore the country’s rich cultural heritage, historical events, national traditions, and artistic works.

During museum visits, students gain knowledge about historical exhibits, artefacts, and other examples of cultural heritage, learning about their historical and social significance. These activities help raise awareness of cultural heritage preservation, promote respect for cultural diversity, and strengthen students’ participation in social and cultural life.

MSU’s activities in this area are based on the principles of strengthening relations between higher education institutions and society, promoting access to cultural institutions, and enriching education through extracurricular learning opportunities. Visits to museums, galleries, and historical sites open to the public enable students to benefit from cultural resources and develop their knowledge of historical and cultural heritage.

These activities are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 11.4 — Strengthen efforts to protect and safeguard the world’s cultural and natural heritage.

By supporting students’ access to cultural heritage, Mingachevir State University contributes to the development of an inclusive educational environment, cultural awareness, and the preservation and transmission of Azerbaijan’s historical and cultural assets to future generations.
