At Mingachevir State University, a Scientific Presentation Event Titled “WUF13 Baku: A Vision for the Future of Cities” Was Held within the Framework of the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture”

A scientific presentation event titled “WUF13 Baku: A Vision for the Future of Cities” was organized at Mingachevir State University by the Scientific Research and Innovation Department. A number of academic staff members and students of the university participated in the event.

The event was opened by the Head of the Scientific Research and Innovation Department of MSU, Ramil Hasanov, and a short video presentation about the World Urban Forum – WUF13 was shown to participants. Afterwards, Ramil Hasanov delivered a presentation titled “WUF13: A Platform Shaping the Future of Cities.” During the speech, views were expressed regarding the essence, strategic objectives, and role of the World Urban Forum, which will be organized in Baku within the framework of the United Nations’ UN-Habitat program, in the global urban development agenda. At the same time, the importance of the forum in strengthening international cooperation in sustainable urban planning, housing provision, and urban governance was emphasized.

In the next stage of the event, MSU’s consulting professor Veysal Ayyubov delivered a presentation on “Academic and Practical Initiatives of Mingachevir State University within the Framework of the ‘Year of Urban Planning and Architecture.’” During the presentation, information was provided about the scientific research activities, innovative approaches, and applied projects carried out at the university in the fields of urban planning, architecture, and sustainable development.

Following the presentations, discussions were held among the participants, and the significance of WUF13 in terms of both global urban development and local urban planning policies was discussed in detail.
