On April 24, 2026, panel discussions entitled “Changing Roles and Consequences in Family Relations” were organized within the framework of the international conference “Multidisciplinary Scientific Research in Psychology” held at Mingachevir State University (MSU).
The panel session was moderated by Elnur Rustamov, Chairman of the Institute of Psychology Research. The discussions focused on the transformations experienced by the family institution in the modern era, changing social roles, and the psychological consequences of these changes.
In his speech entitled “Psychological Transformation of the Family Institution and Changing Social Roles in Modern Society,” Elnur Rustamov highlighted the increasingly dynamic nature of family relations and emphasized the impact of both individual and social factors on this process.
Professor Elmar Huseynov of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University delivered a presentation on “Psychological Aspects of Changes Occurring During the Developmental Stages of the Family,” analyzing psychological transformations observed throughout different stages of family life cycles.
Nurali Chalabiyev, Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Sheki branch of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, spoke on “Globalizing Society and the Family: Socio-Psychological Characteristics of Functional and Structural Changes,” explaining the impact of globalization processes on the family institution and the relationship models shaped by emerging social realities.
Ulker Zalova Nuriyeva, psychologist at the Institute of Psychology Research, delivered a presentation entitled “Perception of Spouses’ Behaviors in Marital Relationships and the Quality of Relationships,” addressing the influence of intra-family communication and mutual understanding on the quality of relationships.
Within the framework of the panel, extensive discussions were held on the presented topics, and participants’ questions were answered. The discussions once again highlighted the importance of more deeply studying family relations in the context of contemporary social challenges.
