As part of the “Youth’s Legal Advocacy in the Media” project, a winner of the individual grant competition announced by the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty,” a media tour was organized to Kapaz FM Radio and Kapaz Television and Radio in the city of Ganja.
During the media tour, participants gained first-hand insight into the daily operations of television and radio broadcasting, including editorial planning, programming policies, and the production process. They were introduced to the principles of verifying news sources, ensuring accuracy and balance in journalism, and understanding the legal responsibilities and ethical standards associated with media reporting.
The participants also received comprehensive information about the role of the media in the information society, the legal and ethical considerations of sharing content on social media, and the importance of responsible and informed media use.
As part of the visit, the project participants toured the Kapaz Independent Television and Radio Company, where Firuze Aliyeva, Deputy Director General for Creative Affairs, and Ruslan Aliyev, Technical Director, delivered presentations on the creative and technical aspects of television and radio broadcasting. The presentations covered topics such as live broadcasting, programme scripting, video editing, audio and visual production technologies, studio operations, technical support for radio broadcasting, the television production process, and broadcast preparation.
During the practical component of the media tour, participants observed the organization of work in a professional studio environment, learned about the operation of broadcasting equipment, and gained a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities of journalists and editors. They also explored best practices in selecting appropriate language and communication styles for broadcast media. Interactive discussions addressed important topics including copyright protection, information security, personal data protection, the risks of disinformation, and the concept of public interest, with participants actively engaging through questions and discussions.
At the conclusion of the media tour, participants were awarded certificates of completion. This event marked the successful completion of the “Youth’s Legal Advocacy in the Media” project.
Led by Vagif Fatullayev, the project aimed to improve young people’s legal literacy, promote responsible media behavior, and strengthen their knowledge of information security and legal advocacy. Implemented with the support of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty,” the project has contributed to developing young people into informed media consumers and responsible content creators with a strong understanding of legal and ethical principles.
