Ramil Ilham Hasanov, Head of the Research and Innovation Department at Mingachevir State University and a lecturer at the University, has been admitted to the special PhD programme in Business Administration Sciences – Individual Doctoral Preparation at Széchenyi István University, one of Hungary’s prestigious higher education institutions located in the city of Győr.
Situated in Győr, which is regarded as one of Central Europe’s centres of science and innovation, the University operates within the strategically important “Golden Triangle” connecting Budapest, Vienna and Bratislava. It is widely recognised as an internationally oriented research university.
Ramil Hasanov successfully completed all stages of the admission process, including a special examination, the evaluation of his research proposal and the academic selection procedures, thereby earning the right to enrol in the programme.
One of the main features of the programme is that doctoral candidates are expected to publish consistently in leading international scientific journals and demonstrate high academic performance within a hybrid education model. In recent years, this approach has been increasingly adopted by universities in countries with advanced research traditions, including the United Kingdom, France and Germany, while in Central European universities it is being developed as an innovative model of doctoral training.
It should be particularly emphasised that admission to this programme is based primarily on candidates’ international research activities, research potential, academic achievements and scientific productivity. Preference is given to researchers who have already established themselves within the international academic community and demonstrated strong scientific performance.
This PhD programme differs significantly from conventional doctoral programmes. It is based on an individual doctoral preparation model and requires candidates to demonstrate advanced research skills, international academic engagement, proficiency in modern scientific methodologies, a high level of academic English and a successful publication record in prestigious international scientific journals.
Ramil Hasanov has achieved significant results in his international academic career. Over the past three years, he has published 28 scientific articles indexed in the Scopus international bibliometric database, while his H-index, one of the key indicators of academic impact, stands at 6. His research mainly focuses on economics, sustainable development, econometric modelling and artificial intelligence-based modelling.
It should also be noted that Ramil Hasanov successfully completed his master’s degree in Spain within the framework of the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme. He also completed his doctoral studies in General Economics in the Republic of Azerbaijan and successfully defended his dissertation this year. The doctoral programme he will begin at Széchenyi István University will be his second doctoral degree programme.
The admission of an MSU staff member to such a prestigious international doctoral programme with high academic requirements is considered an important achievement in terms of strengthening the research environment at the University, expanding international scientific cooperation and representing Azerbaijani science within the global academic community.
