A seminar on the topic “Alternative Technologies and Innovative Solutions in Conditions of Water Scarcity” was held at Mingachevir State University, jointly organized by the Department of Information Technologies and the Department of Natural Sciences. The seminar was organized in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly focusing on “Clean Water and Sanitation,” and was dedicated to discussing opportunities for protecting water resources, ensuring their efficient management, and improving access to high-quality drinking water through innovative approaches.
The event was attended by the university’s academic staff and students. Among the speakers were Elgiz Mahmudov and Leyla Shukurova, lecturers from the Department of Information Technologies, as well as Aysel Bayramova, a lecturer from the Department of Natural Sciences. The presentations highlighted global challenges related to water scarcity, smart water management systems, digital monitoring technologies, and the use of alternative water sources.
During the seminar, interactive discussions were held between lecturers and students, and various innovative ideas were proposed. It was emphasized that, in the context of climate change, the reduction of water resources necessitates the application of new technological approaches, and expanding research activities in this field is of great importance.
The main objective of the seminar was to identify effective measures and innovative solutions to prevent the depletion of water resources, to enhance the engagement of young researchers in this field, and to contribute to the integration of proposed initiatives into future state programs. The practical implementation prospects of the ideas presented were also discussed.
At the end of the event, it was noted that the continued organization of such seminars would contribute to the development of the university’s scientific environment, the improvement of students’ practical knowledge and skills, and the resolution of pressing water security issues in the country.
