A futsal tournament dedicated to “8 November – Victory Day” begins at MSU

On 15 October 2026, a futsal tournament dedicated to 8 November – Victory Day began among students at Mingachevir State University (MSU), organised by the Sports and Wellness Complex.

A total of 32 teams comprising students from the university’s faculties of Economics and Management, Engineering, Mathematics and Information Technologies, and Education are participating in the tournament.

The main purpose of the competition is to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among students, increase interest in futsal, and support young people’s physical development and constructive use of their leisure time. The tournament also serves to strengthen students’ spirit of patriotism and reinforce respect for the traditions of statehood and national values.

Communicating the historical significance of Victory Day to the younger generation and presenting the heroism of our martyrs and war veterans as an example form the main moral foundations of the competition. The participation of teams representing different faculties creates opportunities to strengthen communication, mutual respect, and solidarity among students.

The tournament supports the development of students’ teamwork skills, their ability to make responsible decisions, and their adherence to the principles of fair competition. Bringing together health, physical activity, and social participation, this initiative contributes to supporting student well-being and developing an active campus life at the university.
