On November 3, 2026, Rector of Mingachevir State University (MSU), Anar Eminov, met with 32 final-year students majoring in Tourism Management who had completed their practical internships at various hotels in the Republic of Türkiye. The main purpose of the meeting was to evaluate the knowledge and practical skills acquired by the students during their international internships, discuss their professional development prospects, and explore opportunities to facilitate their transition from higher education to the labor market.
During the meeting, Rector Anar Eminov highlighted the university’s ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of education, strengthening a student-centered learning environment, and expanding opportunities for international cooperation. He emphasized that providing students with opportunities to undertake internships abroad plays a crucial role in enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge in real working environments, become familiar with international service standards, and develop into competitive professionals.
Anar Eminov noted that the dynamic development of the tourism sector is increasing the demand for qualified specialists equipped with modern hospitality skills, innovative management competencies, foreign language proficiency, and intercultural communication abilities. In this regard, international internships not only provide students with practical professional experience but also help them adapt to diverse working environments and develop teamwork and independent decision-making skills.
The Rector encouraged students to make effective use of their international experience in their future careers and to continuously improve their professional knowledge and competencies. He also emphasized the importance of pursuing master’s degrees and other educational opportunities after completing their bachelor’s studies, strengthening foreign language skills, participating in international certification programs, and embracing the principle of lifelong learning.
During the meeting, the students shared their impressions of the internships they had completed in Türkiye’s hotel and hospitality industry. They spoke about the practical knowledge and experience gained in service organization, customer satisfaction, professional communication, coordination of operational processes, and team management. The students expressed confidence that the experience acquired in an international working environment would have a positive impact on their future professional careers.
The students expressed their gratitude to the university administration, particularly Rector Anar Eminov, for creating international internship opportunities and for the attention and continuous support provided for their professional development. They noted that such initiatives make a significant contribution to helping young people realize their potential, gain a deeper understanding of international labor market requirements, and prepare for their future careers with greater confidence.
The meeting, held in an atmosphere of open and constructive dialogue, also addressed students’ future employment prospects, opportunities to integrate their practical experience into the educational process, and ways to further develop international professional connections.
It should be noted that expanding international internship opportunities, strengthening university–industry cooperation, improving students’ readiness for the labor market, and developing human capital capable of competing in the global professional environment remain among the key strategic development priorities of Mingachevir State University.
