MDU holds meetings on improving curricula in line with labour market requirements

On October 22, 2026, staff members of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology at Mingachevir State University (MDU) held working meetings at Nursery-Kindergarten No. 10 “Garanfil” and Nursery-Kindergarten No. 1 “Lala” in Mingachevir.

The main purpose of the meetings was to discuss the periodic monitoring of curricula and course syllabi, their improvement in line with current labour market requirements, and the integration of students’ theoretical knowledge with practical activities.

The meetings were attended by Konul Jabbarova, Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology at MDU, and departmental lecturers Gunel Najafova and Sevinj Samadova. The preschool institutions were represented by Tarana Movsumova, a methodologist at “Garanfil” Nursery-Kindergarten, and Elnura Chalabiyeva, Director of “Lala” Nursery-Kindergarten, together with its methodologist, Naila Aghayeva.

The discussions focused on the content of curricula and course programmes, aligning learning outcomes with the needs of preschool education, and improving the quality of teacher training. The importance of taking employers’ and practising professionals’ experience, feedback and suggestions into account in this process was emphasised.

One of the main discussion topics was developing future preschool teachers’ skills in organising teaching and educational activities, applying modern pedagogical approaches, communicating effectively with children and solving practical problems. Views were exchanged on enriching course content with modern methodological approaches and making effective use of preschool institutions’ experience in preparing students for professional practice.

The meetings highlighted the role of expanding cooperation between higher education and preschool institutions in supporting quality education and future specialists’ employment opportunities. It was noted that this approach, based on labour market requirements, serves to strengthen students’ professional competencies, increase the practical relevance of education and prepare specialists who meet the current requirements of preschool education.
