On October 29, 2026, a masterclass seminar dedicated to employment policy and the requirements of the modern labour market was held at Mingachevir State University (MSU) for students majoring in Economics.

Conducted by Arif Taghiyev, a lecturer at the Department of Economics, and Mirsahib Eminov, Head of the Analysis Division of the Education and Strategic Planning Department of the State Employment Agency, the event aimed to expand students’ knowledge of employment, reinforce their theoretical preparation through practical approaches, and support their readiness for future professional activities.

During the seminar, Mirsahib Eminov provided detailed information on the main areas of the “Employment Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019–2030,” approved by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated October 30, 2018. He outlined the tasks and expected outcomes arising from the Strategy, as well as the activities of the State Employment Agency and other relevant government institutions towards their implementation.

The event featured discussions on development trends in the modern labour market, the role of the state in ensuring employment, human capital development, and workforce training aligned with labour market requirements. Students were informed about the importance of employment contracts, the advantages of formalising employment relationships, and employees’ social protection.

The interactive discussions also addressed gender equality in the labour market, employment opportunities for young people, and the impact of demographic factors on employment. The importance of expanding equal opportunities, promoting decent work, and using human resources efficiently for sustainable socioeconomic development was also considered.

The seminar supported students in connecting their subject knowledge with practical issues, increasing their awareness of employment relationships, and planning their careers.
