On 23 September 2026, an awareness-raising seminar on personal data protection and privacy principles was held at Mingachevir State University (MSU), organised by the Student Affairs Department. The event aimed to improve students’ digital literacy, expand their knowledge of information security and promote responsible behaviour in the digital environment.
The seminar provided detailed information on personal data security, the importance of adhering to privacy principles, and students’ rights and responsibilities regarding data protection. Key considerations when collecting, storing and using personal data were explained, and ways to ensure information security on social media and within the university’s information systems were demonstrated.

It was noted that these rules serve to safeguard student data, ensure privacy and develop a responsible approach to personal data within the university. The importance of a secure digital environment in supporting student well-being and strengthening trust in the educational process was emphasised.
The seminar featured interactive discussions during which students’ questions were answered and issues of interest were clarified. Participants noted the importance of regularly holding such events to raise awareness of digital risks.
The seminar contributed to strengthening students’ knowledge of personal data protection, developing their skills in the safe use of electronic resources and promoting a culture of responsible digital participation.
