On September 8, 2026, Rector of Mingachevir State University (MSU), Anar Eminov, held a series of meetings with faculty deans, heads of departments, and heads of the University’s structural units on the occasion of the beginning of the 2026/2027 academic year.

During the meetings, Rector Anar Eminov wished the University community success in the new academic year and emphasized the importance of ensuring more agile, results-oriented, and coordinated activities in line with the University’s strategic development goals in the period ahead.

The main purpose of the series of meetings was to discuss the Action Plans of the University’s structural units for the 2026/2027 academic year, determine implementation mechanisms for the planned activities, clarify duties and responsibilities across priority areas, and ensure that the work carried out is assessed on the basis of measurable outcomes.

During the discussions, the continuous enhancement of teaching quality, improvement of academic programmes in line with the evolving demands of the labour market, strengthening of a student-centred academic environment, increasing the effectiveness of research activities, and advancing university–industry cooperation towards a more practice-oriented model were highlighted among the key areas of activity.

At the same time, views were exchanged on expanding international academic cooperation, increasing mobility opportunities for students and staff, developing joint projects with international partners, and further strengthening the University’s international visibility and academic reputation.

The broader application of digital management tools, data- and indicator-driven decision-making, more accessible and efficient delivery of services, and increased effectiveness of institutional processes were also identified as key priorities for the new academic year.

The meetings also addressed forthcoming tasks related to the efficient use of resources across the University, strengthening environmental responsibility, promoting a more systematic approach to energy and waste management, fostering a green campus culture, and ensuring the active participation of students and staff in these processes.

Rector Anar Eminov underlined the importance of ensuring that each area outlined in the action plans is accompanied by specific performance indicators, strengthening cooperation among structural units, and ensuring that implemented activities make a tangible contribution to the University’s overall strategic objectives.

It was noted that, alongside improving academic quality, particular attention in the new academic year will be given to expanding opportunities for students’ personal and professional development, enhancing their employment and career prospects, supporting innovative initiatives, and further developing an inclusive and accessible university environment.

Anar Eminov emphasized the importance of coordinated action by all structural units around shared institutional objectives in the period ahead and expressed confidence that the new academic year would mark a new stage for MSU characterised by new initiatives, stronger outcomes, and sustainable development.

The series of meetings concluded with the clarification of the structural units’ activity priorities for the 2026/2027 academic year, the determination of relevant implementation mechanisms, and the assignment of specific tasks aimed at achieving the objectives set for the new academic year.
