Mingachevir State University (MSU) organized a four-day English-language Summer School aimed at supporting the academic and personal development of talented school students.

The program brought together students who had won medals in the English Language Olympiad, the final round of which was held by Mingachevir State University on March 1, 2026. The main objective of the Summer School was to improve the participants’ English speaking and communication skills and to strengthen their teamwork, presentation, creative thinking, and collaboration abilities through practical activities.

The four-day program was conducted entirely in English. Unlike traditional classroom-based instruction, the training sessions focused on interactive and learner-centred teaching methods. The school students participated in a variety of educational games, team-based tasks, discussions, presentations, and situational activities.

The open and dynamic learning environment enabled participants to express their ideas confidently in English, speak before an audience, listen to different perspectives, and make decisions collaboratively. The practical sessions also contributed to increasing the students’ self-confidence, developing their social and communication skills, and applying newly acquired knowledge in everyday communication.

The Summer School was provided free of charge and organized by the International Language Centre of MSU’s School of Lifelong Learning, with the voluntary support of university students. The involvement of MSU students as volunteers contributed to the exchange of experience between school students and university youth and helped create an environment of mutual learning.

This initiative represents another successful example of Mingachevir State University’s continued efforts to support the development of talented school students, expand access to quality learning opportunities, improve foreign-language proficiency, and strengthen cooperation between the university and schools.
