Visit of Mingachevir State University to Turkey Continues: Agreement Signed with Ege University

Mingachevir State University (MDU) continues to expand its scientific and educational cooperation with the brotherly country, Turkey. The university’s delegation is proceeding with its official meetings.

On October 14, 2025, within the framework of the visit to Turkey, a delegation led by Rector Anar Eminov met with the Rector of Ege University, Professor Necdet Budak, in Izmir.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of inter-university cooperation, including the implementation of joint research projects, organization of joint conferences and seminars, and the exchange of students and academic staff. Both sides expressed their readiness to support initiatives such as the alignment of educational programs, the introduction of dual-degree models, and the development of innovative learning platforms.

Professor N. Budak expressed his satisfaction with welcoming the MDU delegation to Ege University. He noted that the development of cooperation in education and science between Azerbaijan and Turkey is an integral part of the strategic partnership between the two countries. He emphasized that Ege University is interested in strengthening academic and scientific ties with Azerbaijan, and that joint programs, research projects, and exchange opportunities will contribute to the educational systems of both sides.

Rector Anar Eminov thanked the hosts for the warm reception and highlighted that MDU places special importance on partnerships with Turkish higher education institutions within its internationalization strategy. He noted that this cooperation goes beyond academic exchange, creating new opportunities in cultural integration, sharing innovative management practices, implementing joint projects, and expanding student and faculty mobility.

At the end of the meeting, a Bilateral Cooperation Protocol was signed between MDU and Ege University.

According to the protocol, the parties will cooperate in developing academic and cultural relations, organizing exchanges of faculty, researchers, and students, conducting joint research and publishing results, holding joint scientific events, and sharing educational resources, literature, and databases. The agreement also includes plans for launching joint master’s programs, establishing support mechanisms for exchange participants, and expanding international experience opportunities for students.

Following the signing ceremony, the MDU delegation visited the campus of Ege University, where they became acquainted with its academic buildings, research laboratories, and infrastructure. The university’s modern educational environment, innovative teaching approaches, and student-oriented infrastructure were highly appreciated.

It should be noted that through this cooperation, Mingachevir State University further expands its international partnership network and takes another significant step in strengthening Azerbaijan–Turkey educational relations.
