A roundtable on “Social equality: the role of young people” was held at the Mingachevir Youth House.

Organized jointly by the Student Affairs Department and the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Mingachevir State University (MDU), the event aimed to draw attention to the role of young people in promoting social equality, ensuring equal opportunities, protecting children’s rights and creating a safe digital environment.

During the roundtable, participants exchanged views on the importance of social equality for the development of society, young people’s active participation in public life, the promotion of equal opportunities and the strengthening of social responsibility.

Güney Məmmədova, a student affairs specialist in the Student Affairs Department, and Aslan Ələkbərzadə, an event organization specialist, spoke about the importance of strengthening young people’s sense of social responsibility, encouraging their active participation in public initiatives and supporting their contribution to equal opportunities in society.

Gültəkin Knyazova, a lecturer in the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, gave a presentation titled “From equal opportunities to a safe digital environment: the role of young people in protecting children’s rights.” Her presentation addressed the protection of children’s rights, the creation of equal opportunities and children’s safety in the digital environment. She also emphasized the importance of raising young people’s awareness and encouraging their active participation in these areas.

The event concluded with a discussion of the topic. Participants’ questions were answered, and views and suggestions were shared on how young people could play a more active role in promoting social equality.

The event contributed to strengthening social responsibility among young people, promoting equal opportunities and creating an inclusive environment.
