On September 28, 2026, the “PeşəFest-2026” festival was held in the city of Mingachevir under the slogan “Learn a Profession, Build Your Future!”. Rector of Mingachevir State University (MSU) Anar Eminov and university students participated in the festival.
Organized by the State Employment Agency (SEA) under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the main purpose of the festival was to introduce young people to professions that are currently in demand in the labour market, provide information about the skills required in various fields, and support them in making future career choices.
The event was attended by Ilham Ismayilov, Head of the Mingachevir City Executive Authority (CEA), Anar Eminov, Rector of MSU, Hasil Abbasov, Chairman of the Board of the SEA, heads of public and private institutions, representatives of the public, as well as pupils and students.
Speaking at the event, Ilham Ismayilov, Head of the Mingachevir CEA, emphasized the importance of young people acquiring modern professions and skills amid changes taking place in the labour market. He noted the significance of “PeşəFest” in increasing young people’s awareness of professional opportunities and helping them determine their future areas of activity.
Hasil Abbasov, Chairman of the Board of the SEA, spoke about the importance of developing human resources in line with the current requirements of the labour market. He stated that the festival provided participants with an opportunity to become more familiar with various fields of activity, assess their interests and skills, and form a more comprehensive understanding of their future professional choices.
In his speech, Anar Eminov, Rector of MSU, noted that in the modern era, higher education is not limited to the transfer of theoretical knowledge, and that the development of students’ professional and practical skills is also of great importance. The Rector emphasized the importance of strengthening links between the university and the labour market, supporting students in career planning, and preparing them for the changing work environment.
As part of the festival, practical presentations and interactive activities were organized in various professions. Along with the fields of medicine, services, and design, modern areas such as cybersecurity, the Internet of Things (IoT), and UI/UX design were also presented to the participants. Young people communicated directly with specialists and gained a closer understanding of the characteristics and development prospects of various fields of activity.
MSU students participating in the festival took part in presentations and interactive activities and exchanged views with specialists from various fields. The participation of students in such platforms enabled them to connect the knowledge they acquired in the classroom with the real requirements of the labour market, explore new areas of activity, and assess their professional development prospects.
MSU’s participation in such initiatives is in line with the university’s activities in the areas of student-oriented education, career development, and cooperation with society. At the same time, expanding access to quality education opportunities for young people, strengthening their preparation for the labour market, and promoting their access to decent employment opportunities contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the areas of “Quality Education” and “Decent Work and Economic Growth”.
“PeşəFest-2026” served as a useful platform for young people to become familiar with modern professions, understand the importance of acquiring new skills, and determine their future career paths in a more purposeful manner.
