According to the preliminary results of undergraduate admissions to higher education institutions for the 2026/2027 academic year, Mingachevir State University (MSU) has achieved the highest performance in its history. The university fulfilled 98.10% of its total admission quota, with 1,717 applicants earning the title of MSU student—a record result in the institution’s history.

Statistical analysis of the admission process demonstrates a significant increase in applicant interest across all academic fields offered at MSU. Admission rates across specialty groups are as follows:

  • Group I: 99.20%
  • Group II: 96.60%
  • Group III: 100%
  • Group IV: 100%

Consistently prioritizing the development of regional human capital in engineering disciplines—particularly in the energy sector—MSU’s strategic initiatives have yielded outstanding outcomes. Within the joint personnel training framework conducted with Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), available quotas for “Energy Engineering” and “Electrical and Electronics Engineering” were completed with a 100% admission rate. Furthermore, the newly introduced “Process Automation Engineering” program attracted substantial applicant interest, also reaching full 100% enrollment.

The university’s international partnerships and dual-experience initiatives have also achieved major success. Established with the support of Türkiye’s prestigious Dokuz Eylül University and admitting its first cohort this year, the “International Trade and Logistics” program achieved a 100% admission rate.

As a major milestone toward academic internationalization, the English-medium “Computer Science” and “Tourism Management” programs—offered for the first time this academic year—both recorded 100% enrollment. In particular, professional training in the English-taught “Tourism Management” program aligns directly with the objectives set out in the “State Program on Tourism Development in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030,” approved by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, dated August 20, 2026. This initiative will make a vital contribution to providing both the country and the strategically positioned tourism region with foreign-language-proficient specialists who meet global standards.

Another notable qualitative indicator this year is the significant rise in the number of high-scoring admitted students. Among the admitted undergraduate students, 23 scored between 500 and 650 points, while 182 scored between 401 and 510 points on the entrance examinations.

Mingachevir State University continues to build a student-centric ecosystem and foster new opportunities for the personal and professional growth of young individuals. In this context, the upcoming academic year will feature dedicated internal scholarship programs for students, as well as an expanded scope of international academic exchange opportunities with foreign partner universities (including the Orkhon Exchange Program, dual-degree tracks, and more). These initiatives will facilitate student access to international educational opportunities and cultivate competitive specialists for the global labor market.

This historic achievement clearly reflects MSU’s purposeful strategic goals in recent years, continuous enhancements in educational quality, the establishment of an innovative learning and research environment, and the university’s growing prestige as a leading regional center for science and education.

The leadership and faculty of Mingachevir State University warmly congratulate all newly admitted students joining the MSU family and their parents, wishing them outstanding achievements and great success in the upcoming academic year.
