Another important step has been taken toward strengthening ties among universities of the Turkic world and expanding academic exchange opportunities.
On October 15, 2025, the 8th General Assembly of the Union of Turkic Universities (TURKUNIB) is being held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Mingachevir State University (MDU) is represented at this significant international event—organized by Tashkent International University—by Azad Mirzabayov, Head of the Quality Assurance and Sustainable Development Department, and Parviz Mammadrazayev, Coordinator of the International Cooperation Office, under the directive of Rector Anar Eminov.
At the General Assembly of Union of Turkic Universities (TURKUNIB), discussions are being held on cooperation in education, science, and culture among higher education institutions of member countries, as well as on the future development prospects of the Orhun Exchange Program.
Within the framework of the Orhun Exchange Program, it is planned to expand student and academic staff exchange opportunities not only with Turkey but also with universities in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Hungary. This program plays a particularly important role in the formation of a unified higher education space among Turkic-speaking countries.
It should be noted that starting from October 20, 2025, an official announcement will be made regarding the admission of students and academic staff to universities in Uzbekistan within the framework of the Orhun Exchange Program.
Mingachevir State University considers such initiatives—aimed at developing international relations, integrating into the global education system, and establishing sustainable partnership platforms—as key strategic priorities.
