On July 23, 2025, new directions of cooperation were discussed between Mingachevir State University (MDU) and the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA), operating under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The parties identified joint initiatives aimed at strengthening education and practical skills in information technologies, programming, and cybersecurity as key areas of collaboration. The agreement was signed by the Rector of MDU, Anar Eminov, and the Chairman of the Board of IDDA, Farid Osmanov.
Within this framework, a delegation led by Rector A. Eminov visited the Innovation and Digital Development Agency. During the meeting, roundtable discussions were held to exchange views on cooperation prospects and joint activities.
Rector A. Eminov emphasized the importance of such partnerships in enhancing the university’s capacity in digital development, noting that the new agreement would significantly contribute to aligning MDU’s development with advanced technological and digital trends. He also expressed his gratitude to the Agency’s leadership for their support.
Chairman Farid Osmanov highlighted the important role of regional universities in training qualified and competitive specialists. He commended MDU’s progress and initiative in technological development and expressed readiness to support the establishment and expansion of this cooperation.
Within the cooperation framework, joint activities are planned, including the improvement of curricula and syllabi in programming, ICT, and cybersecurity; the involvement of Agency experts in the teaching process; organization of student internships at the Agency; support for the “Cyber Club” initiative; and the implementation of other collaborative projects.
Following the meeting, the MDU delegation visited the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center, where they became acquainted with its modern infrastructure and training processes, and continued discussions on further cooperation opportunities.
It should be noted that the cooperation established between MDU and the Innovation and Digital Development Agency is of significant importance in ensuring quality in higher education, strengthening national human capital in the digital sector, and supporting workforce development aligned with labor market demands.
