In such an era, the mission of higher education institutions is no longer limited to preparing qualified specialists. Universities now serve as strategic centers of science and intellectual thought that guide the intellectual development of society, foster a culture of innovative thinking, strengthen the principles of social responsibility, and act as leading promoters of sustainable development ideas.

Today, the higher education system of Azerbaijan has also entered a new stage of development in line with global challenges. The modern university model is defined not only by academic achievements, but also by management culture, digital agility, social responsibility, and environmental awareness. In this regard, higher education institutions have identified the renewal and development of their activities in accordance with the demands of the era as a strategic priority.

At present, the development strategy of our University is aimed at establishing a modern university model based on science, innovation, digital transformation, strengthening human capital, and the principle of environmental responsibility.

We firmly believe that the mission of the university of the future cannot be fulfilled solely through the exchange of knowledge. Our universities are evolving into respected academic environments that promote social sensitivity and environmental awareness while contributing to the future development of society. In this context, the reforms and initiatives implemented at our university are grounded in systematic and long-term development objectives.

Currently, our university continues to carry out systematic and sustainable activities in the following directions:

• expanding a green and healthy campus environment;
• increasing energy efficiency and ensuring the rational use of resources;
• implementing modern digital management mechanisms;
• expanding paperless administration and electronic services;
• supporting environmental awareness initiatives;
• ensuring effective waste management and promoting environmental culture;
• actively engaging students, young researchers, and staff in social and environmental projects.

I would like to confidently emphasize that every member of our university — from professors to students, from employees to alumni — plays a significant role in achieving these strategic goals. Through shared responsibility, a healthy academic environment, and innovative thinking, we can build a stronger, more innovative university model capable of responding to international challenges.

Our primary goal is not only to respond to the demands of today, but also to build the university of the future. Development based on science, innovative governance, commitment to national and moral values, and principles of social responsibility form the foundation of our university’s philosophy.

I believe that every initiative we implement together will contribute significantly to enhancing the academic reputation of our university, competent responsible and capable young people for society, and supporting the intellectual development of our country.
