DEBATE CLUB
About the Club
The Debate Club operates to develop students’ critical thinking skills, form a culture of speech, and increase their ability to objectively think about public issues. The club instills in students the culture of expressing their positions in a well-founded manner, presenting arguments, and respecting the opinions of the other party.
Debate tournaments, open discussions, and practical exercises are regularly organized within the club. These activities contribute to the development of students’ leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
Areas of activity:
- Organizing debates on various social, economic, political and cultural topics
- Conducting trainings on speech culture and proper communication skills
- Practical trainings on debate formats (Parliamentary debate, Karl Popper, British parliamentary system, etc.)
- Participation in intra-university and intercity debate tournaments
- Forming students’ social activism and civic position
- Organizing debate schools and training programs for new members
The main goals of the club:
- Strengthening students’ analytical and critical thinking skills
- Forming an environment for free exchange of ideas and healthy discussion
- Developing self-expression and leadership skills of young people
- Conducting educational discussions on topics relevant to society
