Mingachevir State University students learn about modern technologies in energy production: an excursion to “Azerbaijan TPP” LLC within the framework of university–industry cooperation

On October 12–13, 2026, first- and second-year students studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Energy Engineering at Mingachevir State University (MSU) became familiar with the production process at “Azerbaijan TPP” LLC.

Organized by MSU’s Department of Energy, the excursion aimed to connect students’ theoretical knowledge with the real production environment, introduce them to modern energy technologies, and develop practical skills in line with labor market requirements. The visit was significant in strengthening ties between higher education and industry, expanding practical training in engineering education, and supporting the professional development of future specialists.

During the excursion, students learned about the company’s operations, the stages of electricity generation, the management of technological processes, the operating principles of modern equipment, and production safety rules. Company specialists provided students with detailed information about the organization of production processes, the operation of energy systems, and the application of engineering solutions.

The discussions covered ways to improve efficiency in energy production, the use of innovative technologies, the economical use of energy resources, and reducing the environmental impact of production. The exchange of views on these issues helped raise students’ awareness of energy security, the responsible use of resources, and more environmentally efficient approaches to production.

As a practical example of university–industry cooperation, the excursion helped deepen students’ knowledge in their fields, familiarize them with processes they may encounter in a production environment, and strengthen their preparation for future careers. During the visit, students were accompanied by instructors in their subject areas and the company’s occupational safety specialist.

Mingachevir State University places particular importance on enriching theoretical education with practical experience, expanding cooperation with industrial enterprises, and preparing engineering professionals who take sustainable development principles into account. Initiatives of this kind contribute to developing students’ professional competencies, fostering innovative thinking, and preparing them for future challenges in the energy sector.

Thanks were extended to the leadership of Mingachevir State University and “Azerbaijan TPP” LLC for organizing the excursion and supporting the students’ familiarization with the production process.
