On 23 October 2026, an essay competition among master’s students was held at Mingachevir State University (MSU) as part of the implementation of the action plan dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress.
The competition aimed to convey the historical and scientific significance of the First Turkological Congress to the younger generation, increase interest in studying Turkological heritage, develop master’s students’ research and academic writing skills, and encourage them to engage in scholarly work.
More than 25 master’s students submitted essays to the competition. The entries were assessed based on their content, scholarly approach, and comprehensive coverage of the topic. According to the jury’s evaluation, Aysun Dashdamirova was awarded first place, Jamila Bayramli second place, and Aytaj Babayeva third place. The winners were presented with certificates.
The competition helped deepen master’s students’ knowledge of Turkological heritage and develop their ability to work with scholarly sources, conduct analyses, and express their ideas with sound reasoning. It also provided an opportunity to identify young researchers’ scientific potential and encourage their academic engagement.
Such initiatives held at MSU contribute to the study and transmission of national cultural and scientific heritage to future generations, strengthen respect for cultural diversity, and reinforce the connection between education and research.
