MDU Faculty Members and Students Participate in the National Competition “New Generation Energy Professionals: Architects of the Grid”

On 16 October 2026, a group of faculty members and students in the field of energy engineering from Mingachevir State University (MDU) participated in the national competition entitled “New Generation Energy Professionals: Architects of the Grid,” held in the Hadrut settlement of Khojavend District at the invitation of “Azerishiq” OJSC and within the framework of cooperation.

The competition, aimed at developing knowledge and skills in the energy sector, enhancing professional competencies and promoting innovative approaches, provided an important platform for participants to demonstrate their theoretical knowledge through practical tasks, improve their technical skills and familiarise themselves with innovations in modern energy systems.

As part of the competition, participants demonstrated their professional knowledge, skills in carrying out various technical tasks, as well as innovative solutions and projects aimed at the digitalisation of electricity distribution networks. The event was particularly significant in terms of exchanging experience in the application of modern technologies in the energy sector, digital transformation and the development of energy infrastructure.

The participation of MDU faculty members and students in the competition is important for advancing university–industry cooperation, reinforcing theoretical knowledge acquired in higher education through practical skills, and supporting the professional development of future energy specialists. Such initiatives contribute to the development of students’ innovative thinking, technical problem-solving skills and competencies aligned with the requirements of the modern labour market.

Initiatives of this kind play an important role in expanding cooperation between Mingachevir State University and “Azerishiq” OJSC, strengthening links between the education and energy sectors, and supporting the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of energy engineering.
