On October 16, 2026, Mingachevir State University (MSU) hosted a significant event aimed at fostering students’ creative potential, promoting an inclusive academic environment based on equal opportunities, and supporting young people’s socio-cultural initiatives. The event featured the official presentation of the book “Bir ocağın başında – Sevgi yolu” (“By the Same Hearth – The Path of Love”), co-authored by MSU students Afghan Mammadov and Nurmahammad Ismayilli.
The presentation ceremony was attended by MSU Rector Anar Eminov, members of the university’s academic and administrative staff, students, the authors’ parents, and representatives of the Mingachevir branch of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union (AWU).
The book, co-authored by Afghan Mammadov, a student of Group I23.1 at the Faculty of Economics and Management, and Nurmahammad Ismayilli, a student of Group Mq24Q at the School of Lifelong Learning, was recognized as a meaningful example of the university’s commitment to identifying each student’s individual potential, expanding opportunities for creative expression, and encouraging active participation in public life.
Speaking at the event, MSU Rector Anar Eminov congratulated the young authors on the successful outcome of their first creative initiative and highly appreciated their literary achievements. The Rector emphasized that the mission of a modern university extends far beyond preparing specialists equipped with professional knowledge and skills. A higher education institution must also serve as a developmental environment where young people can discover their individual talents, express themselves freely, and contribute to society through social and cultural initiatives.
Anar Eminov highlighted the strategic importance of strengthening student-centered approaches, inclusive education principles, and equal opportunities for participation within the university. He noted that enabling every student, regardless of their individual characteristics or circumstances, to realize their potential in academic, social, and creative life is among the university’s fundamental values.
The Rector further emphasized that the students’ joint authorship represents not only a creative achievement but also a reflection of a university culture built on mutual support, collaboration, and confidence in human potential. Wishing the authors continued success, he encouraged them to pursue their literary interests, produce new works, and enrich the literary landscape with fresh perspectives.
The book “Bir ocağın başında – Sevgi yolu” consists of 14 chapters. It explores various dimensions of love, the subtleties of human relationships, emotional bonds, mutual understanding, and the significance of human values in everyday life through literary reflection. Approaching the concept of love from different perspectives, the authors invite readers to explore the depth of human emotions and reflect on moral values and interpersonal relationships.
The book was edited by Saadat Aghakishiyeva, Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at MSU’s Department of Humanities, while its academic reviewer was Gunel Yunusova, Associate Professor at the same department. The academic and methodological support provided by university faculty members to the young authors once again demonstrates the importance of lecturer–student collaboration in fostering student-led initiatives.
During the event, particular attention was given to encouraging students’ interest in literary creativity, supporting emerging talents, and expanding literary and cultural activities within the university environment. The participation of representatives of the Mingachevir branch of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union was especially significant in strengthening cooperation between the university and the city’s literary and cultural community.
The attendance of the young authors’ parents further highlighted the importance of relationships built on mutual trust, encouragement, and moral support among the university, families, and society.
The presentation carried particular social significance due to the creative achievement of one of the authors, Nurmahammad Ismayilli, a student representing the university’s inclusive education environment. His contribution as a co-author alongside Afghan Mammadov serves as an inspiring example of how inclusion extends beyond access to education to encompass students’ creative self-expression, social engagement, and equal participation in university life.
At Mingachevir State University, recognizing students’ individual potential, embracing diversity as a strength of the academic community, and fostering an environment based on mutual respect and equal opportunities constitute important pillars of the university’s strategic approach.
The presentation of “Bir ocağın başında – Sevgi yolu” once again demonstrates that an inclusive and student-centered university environment is not merely a place for acquiring knowledge but also a platform for discovering talents, bringing people together, and transforming individual abilities into meaningful contributions to society.
Alongside supporting students’ academic achievements, MSU remains committed to encouraging their creative initiatives, social engagement, and participation in cultural life. Through these efforts, the university aims to contribute to the development of a modern higher education model that is accessible to all, grounded in equal opportunities, and dedicated to unlocking and nurturing human potential.
