On October 14, 2026, a city shooting tournament dedicated to October 18 – Restoration of Independence Day was held at the Mingachevir City Stadium, jointly organized by Mingachevir State University (MDU) and the Central Aran Regional Youth and Sports Department.

The main objective of the tournament, organized among MDU students, was to strengthen young people’s sense of patriotism, increase their interest in sports, develop their physical fitness, attention, and accuracy skills, as well as promote the historical significance of the restoration of Azerbaijan’s state independence.

Held in an atmosphere of healthy competition, the event provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their sporting skills, test their potential, and develop their individual abilities. The tournament also contributed to expanding interaction among young people from different educational institutions, strengthening friendships, and promoting an active lifestyle.

At the conclusion of the competition, participants who achieved outstanding results were awarded medals and diplomas.
