On 8 October 2026, Anar Eminov, Rector of Mingachevir State University (MSU), and university staff visited the grave of Azami Huseynov, a graduate who heroically fell in the Patriotic War, at the Alley of Martyrs in Mingachevir to mark the sixth anniversary of his martyrdom.
The university community honoured the martyr’s memory with deep respect and laid flowers at his grave. During the visit, prayers were offered for his soul, and his courage and sacrifice for the Motherland were remembered with gratitude.
MSU representatives also visited the graves of other university graduates who were martyred in the Patriotic War, paying tribute to their memory.
Azami Huseynov studied Energy Engineering at Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute (now Mingachevir State University) from 2010 to 2014. He heroically fell in battles in the Sugovushan area on 8 October 2020 during the 44-day Patriotic War. He was awarded the “For the Motherland”, “For the Liberation of Sugovushan” and other medals by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
MSU consistently prioritises preserving the cherished memory of its martyred graduates and introducing younger generations to their lives and combat service. To this end, the university regularly organises commemorative events, meetings and visits.
