A Memorandum Expanding Sustainable Logistics, Green Thinking and Practical Education Opportunities Signed Between Mingachevir State University and “Regional Transport” LLC

On 25 June 2026, a Memorandum of Understanding on joint cooperation was signed between Mingachevir State University and “Regional Transport” Limited Liability Company.

The signed Memorandum aims to support the practice-oriented development of higher education, professional training of specialists in logistics and international freight transportation, the expansion of university-industry cooperation, and the provision of students with knowledge and skills aligned with the real demands of the labour market.

The Memorandum was signed by Natavan Namazova, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of Mingachevir State University, and Elshad Amrahov, Executive Director of “Regional Transport” LLC.

Within the framework of the Memorandum, the parties envisage the organization of joint trainings, seminars and master classes on international freight transportation, logistics, supply chain management, import-export operations, customs clearance and brokerage services. At the same time, the involvement of MSU students in internships, professional practice, familiarization visits and professional observation programmes in the fields of logistics and transport has been identified as one of the main areas of cooperation.

According to the cooperation document, it is planned to present real case studies to students based on the practical experience of “Regional Transport” LLC, as well as to organize awareness-raising sessions on logistics process planning, documentation and service quality. In addition, joint activities will be carried out to align the curricula of relevant MSU specialties with labour market requirements, expand career opportunities for students and graduates, and support employment prospects in the logistics sector.

Natavan Namazova noted that this cooperation is in line with the strategic development priorities of the University, particularly its goals related to practice-oriented education, integration with industry, innovative personnel training, and linking higher education in the region with the labour market. It was emphasized that direct interaction between MSU students and representatives of the real sector, the complementing of theoretical knowledge with practical skills, and the development of graduates as competitive specialists are of great importance for the University.

The Vice-Rector stated that one of the key challenges of modern higher education is to align the knowledge formed in university classrooms with the real needs of production, business and service sectors. According to her, cooperation with “Regional Transport” LLC will create new opportunities for students to gain practical knowledge in the fields of logistics and transport, closely study international freight transportation and supply chain processes, and define their future career directions more clearly.

Elshad Amrahov noted that the Memorandum of Cooperation will contribute to the development of effective partnership between the business sector and a higher education institution, the strengthening of young people’s professional training, and the formation of human capital equipped with modern knowledge in the field of logistics. He also stated that the company is ready to provide expert support for the evaluation of training, seminar, familiarization visit and professional observation opportunities for students, as well as for linking educational and career activities with the requirements of the sector.

The Executive Director emphasized that logistics and international freight transportation represent a strategic field that is rapidly changing and requires efficiency, accuracy, professionalism and modern management skills. According to him, cooperation with universities is of particular importance in preparing young specialists in this field. The Memorandum signed with MSU will support students in becoming familiar with the real work environment, gaining practical experience and entering the labour market more prepared in the future.

Within the framework of the Memorandum, the parties also envisage the organization of joint projects, research activities, forums, conferences, panel discussions, career days and social responsibility events. The cooperation also aims to contribute to the development of business-education relations, the entrepreneurship ecosystem and the practice-oriented higher education model in the region.

It should be noted that in recent years Mingachevir State University has been consistently developing partnership relations in the areas of training specialists in line with labour market requirements, strengthening university-industry cooperation, and expanding innovation and applied education opportunities. The Memorandum signed with “Regional Transport” LLC is considered another important step in this direction.
