Mingachevir State University ranks in the 301–400 band among world universities in SDG areas in “THE Impact Rankings 2026”

According to the results of “THE Impact Rankings 2026” announced by the prestigious UK-based ranking organization “Times Higher Education”, Mingachevir State University has been ranked in the 1001–1500 band among world universities in the overall results. With this achievement, the University has been represented among 1603 higher education institutions included in the global ranking.

In the 2026 results, MSU achieved successful indicators in several areas of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The University was internationally recognized particularly in the areas related to environmental sustainability, responsible consumption, protection of water resources, green campus approach, and conservation of natural ecosystems.

According to the results, Mingachevir State University ranked in the 301–400 band among world universities in SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production. A total of 758 higher education institutions participated in the ranking for this area.

The University also demonstrated a strong result in SDG 15 – Life on Land, ranking in the 301–400 band among world universities. This indicator shows that MSU’s activities in environmental awareness, nature conservation, and sustainable campus initiatives have been recognized at the international level. A total of 658 higher education institutions were evaluated in this area.

MSU ranked in the 401–600 band in SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation. This result demonstrates the importance of the University’s activities in the efficient management of water resources, environmental research, and water security. A total of 797 higher education institutions participated in the ranking for this area.

In addition, Mingachevir State University was also represented in the ranking for SDG 14 – Life Below Water, placing in the 401+ band. A total of 561 higher education institutions were evaluated in this area.

It should be noted that MSU’s indicators in “THE Impact Rankings 2026” are regarded as an important outcome of the University’s systematic activities in sustainable development, social responsibility, green campus initiatives, environmental awareness, research, and international cooperation.

Mingachevir State University aims to further expand its educational, research, innovation, and social responsibility activities in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, strengthen its position in international rankings, and contribute to enhancing the global reputation of Azerbaijan’s higher education system.
