On March 6, 2026, a scientific-practical seminar titled “The Role of the Biosphere in Sustainable Urban Development: Ecological Architecture and Green Technologies” was held at Mingachevir State University within the framework of the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture,” organized by the Department of Physics and Ecology.
The seminar brought together members of the university’s academic staff, young researchers, and students. During the event, presentations were delivered on актуal issues related to sustainable urban development, ecological architecture, green technologies, and biosphere protection.
At the seminar, leading advisor of the Regional Department of Ecology and Natural Resources No. 8, Ülkər Paşayeva, delivered a presentation titled “Zero Emission Targets in Urban Ecosystems through the Application of Green Technologies: Ecological Efficiency Index of Renewable Energy.”
Lecturer of the Department of Physics and Ecology, Aysel Bayramova, presented on “Preservation of the Structural and Functional Integrity of the Biosphere under Urbanization Conditions: Ecological Paradigms of Sustainable Urban Planning.”
Master’s student of the EMM-24 group, Nuray Mustafazada, delivered a presentation titled “The Restorative Impact of Green Infrastructure Elements on Urban Biodiversity and Microclimate in Ecological Architecture.”
Lecturer of the Department of Physics and Ecology, Gulmira Mammadova, spoke on “Biosphere-Protective Functions of Landscape Architecture and Water Reservoirs in Optimizing the Ecological Framework of the City of Mingachevir.”
The presentations extensively analyzed issues such as maintaining ecological balance in urban environments, applying green technologies, efficient use of biosphere resources, and ensuring sustainable development under urbanization conditions.
At the end of the event, interactive discussions were held among participants, and the speakers provided detailed answers to students’ questions.
