A forum on “Supporting Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises through Innovative Projects” was held at Mingachevir State University

On February 22, 2026, a forum titled “Supporting Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises through Innovative Projects” was held at Mingachevir State University, organized by the Department of Economics. Representatives of government institutions, entrepreneurs, experts, and representatives of various organizations participated in the event and discussed new approaches and cooperation opportunities aimed at the development of the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector.

During the forum, Isfandiyar Hajiyev, Director of Micron LLC, spoke about the role of innovative projects in the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. He emphasized that the application of modern technologies, digitalization, and innovation-oriented business models plays a significant role in increasing the competitiveness of SMEs.

Throughout the event, participants widely discussed issues related to strengthening SMEs through innovative projects, expanding their access to new markets, and organizing entrepreneurial activities more effectively. Participants also exchanged views on promoting innovation-driven entrepreneurship, developing the startup ecosystem, and establishing new cooperation models based on public–private partnerships.

During the discussions, it was highlighted that the application of technologies, digitalization, innovative financing mechanisms, and the improvement of the business environment play an important role in the sustainable development of SMEs. It was also emphasized that expanding cooperation between universities, research centers, and business entities could contribute to transforming innovative ideas into practical projects.

Within the framework of the forum, participants also discussed opportunities for SMEs to create new products and services through innovative projects, benefit from international experience, and play a more active role in regional economic development.

It should be noted that such initiatives organized at Mingachevir State University contribute significantly to strengthening university–industry cooperation, developing an innovative entrepreneurial environment, and encouraging young people to engage in business and startup initiatives.
