A seminar on “Transparent Governance and Anti-Corruption Mechanisms” was held at Mingachevir State University

On September 30, 2025, a seminar titled “Transparent Governance and Anti-Corruption Mechanisms” was held at the Faculty of Economics and Management of Mingachevir State University within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The purpose of the seminar was to inform students about the principles of transparent governance, anti-corruption mechanisms, and the importance of public oversight, as well as to discuss legal and institutional approaches in this field.

The seminar featured Polad Atayev, legal advisor of Mingachevir State University, and Shafa Guliyeva, lecturer at the Department of Humanities, as invited speakers.

During his speech, Polad Atayev provided detailed information on the legal foundations of ensuring transparency in public administration, mechanisms for combating corruption, and issues of legal responsibility. He emphasized that transparent governance plays an important role in building public trust and increasing the efficiency of governance systems.

Shafa Guliyeva, in her remarks, spoke about the role of public oversight in the fight against corruption, the principles of ethical conduct, and the importance of ensuring transparency in organizational activities. It was noted that awareness-raising initiatives in this field contribute to strengthening students’ legal knowledge and civic responsibility.

During the seminar, participants’ questions were addressed, and an extensive exchange of views took place on the topic. Various approaches related to the application of legal and institutional mechanisms in combating corruption were also discussed.

It should be noted that such awareness-raising events implemented at Mingachevir State University within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals play an important role in promoting legal awareness among students, encouraging the principles of transparent governance, and fostering responsible civic values.
