Mingachevir State University (MSU) has taken an important step towards recognising student achievement and strengthening its student support mechanisms.
Based on a decision adopted at a meeting of the MSU Academic Council held in Shaki on 5 July 2025, a new scholarship programme was established to support students with outstanding academic performance, including those from socially vulnerable backgrounds. Accordingly, under an order signed by MSU Rector Anar Eminov on 21 July 2025, 30 undergraduate students with the highest academic results in their respective faculties and five master’s students who did not receive state-funded scholarships, based on the examination results of the spring semester of the 2024–2025 academic year, will each receive a one-time payment of AZN 500 under the Rector’s Honorary Scholarship programme.
The selection process was based on students’ overall academic performance during the examination period, compliance with the scholarship eligibility criteria, and their non-receipt of state scholarships.
The new scholarship programme aims to promote student-centred governance and enhance students’ motivation to achieve academic excellence.
It should be noted that the Rector’s Honorary Scholarship is being introduced at MSU for the first time, and the University intends to continue this initiative in subsequent academic years.
