At Mingachevir State University, the “Student Debate Forum: Water and Society” debate competition on access to clean water and sanitation was held

A debate competition for students was held through the joint organization of the CreART Club and the Debate Club operating under the Student Youth Organization of Mingachevir State University.

Dedicated to the protection of water resources, increasing access to safe drinking water, and sanitation-related challenges, the debate created an opportunity for informative discussions in areas such as environmental protection, public health, and sustainable resource management.

Students from Mingachevir State University (MSU) and Mingachevir Tourism College (MTC) took part in the competition, presenting their arguments in a debate format and engaging in mutual exchange of views through fact-based speeches. The students emphasized the importance of water conservation for social well-being, ecological balance, and meeting the needs of future generations, presenting different perspectives on the topic.

The main purpose of the event was to strengthen ecological thinking, civic engagement, and a responsible citizenship approach among students, as well as to raise awareness about the protection of water resources in line with the sustainable development agenda.

It should be noted that initiatives of this kind develop young people’s analytical thinking skills regarding pressing social and environmental issues, strengthen a culture of collaboration and communication, and contribute to promoting sustainable development values within the framework of university–college partnership.
