Training on “First Aid and Emergency Situations” Held at Mingachevir State University for a Safe and Sustainable Society

A training titled “First Aid and Emergency Situations,” dedicated to March 1 – World Civil Defense Day, was organized at Mingachevir State University by the Department of Mechanics.

The training, held at the Mingachevir “ASAN Service” Center, brought together a group of MSU staff members and students, representatives of the Mingachevir City Executive Authority and the Center’s employees, as well as representatives of the Aran Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The training was conducted by Majid Badalov, a young lecturer of the Department of Mechanics at MSU. He delivered a comprehensive and practice-oriented presentation on providing first aid in emergency situations, assessing existing risks and hazards, and ensuring prompt and appropriate intervention. During the presentation, the concept of emergencies, the hierarchy and characteristics of emergency situations, and rules of conduct during emergencies were explained in detail.

Participants were also provided with practical information on types of first aid and their application mechanisms, including the Heimlich maneuver, closed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and the 360°–5 meter principle. Within the framework of the training, participants enhanced their skills in providing timely and appropriate first aid in emergency situations.

During the event, Major Vugar Ibrahimli, an employee of the Aran Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Khanlar Gurbanov, Head of the Public Relations Department of the Mingachevir City Executive Authority, and Mahir Ismayilov, Head of the Department of Mechanics, delivered speeches emphasizing the importance of raising awareness in the field of civil defense.

The remarks highlighted that increasing society’s level of preparedness for emergencies is of particular importance in terms of protecting human life, ensuring a healthy and safe environment, and promoting a responsible and sustainable model of social behavior.

It should be noted that such awareness-raising and practice-oriented events organized at Mingachevir State University contribute to the formation of a safe and sustainable society, the development of a culture of rapid response and responsibility among young people, and the strengthening of institutional cooperation in the field of public safety.
